Pune, 20th February 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced that water supply across the city will be temporarily suspended on February 23 for maintenance and repair work at the Nigdi Water Purification Centre.
Officials have stated that the water supply department of the civic body will carry out civil and electrical maintenance at the Sector 23 facilities and also conduct repairs in the regional distribution network. Consequently, the water supply in the evening on Monday, February 23, will be entirely suspended throughout Pimpri Chinchwad.
Citizens have been advised to stock up on sufficient water beforehand and use it wisely during the shutdown. The effects of the maintenance work are anticipated to persist into the next day, with the water supply on Tuesday morning expected to be inconsistent and at reduced pressure.
Municipal authorities mentioned that they are striving to finish the repairs on time and resume regular supply promptly. Additional Municipal Commissioner Vikrant Bagade requested residents to work with the administration and endure the temporary disruption.
Officials stated that regular maintenance is essential to avoid major interruptions in the water supply system and to maintain reliable service over the long term.
