Officials said the initiative is part of a broader effort to promote the use of public transport while supporting vulnerable sections of society with targeted benefits.

Alongside this, the PMC has also introduced a series of initiatives focused on women’s safety, empowerment, and overall development under the same budget.

The civic body has announced a 50 per cent property tax concession for properties registered in the name of women, aiming to encourage ownership and financial independence. To support women entrepreneurs, a dedicated convention center will be developed.

In addition, PMC schools will include special ‘Pink Rooms’ or ‘Sakhi Rooms’ for girls, creating safer and more supportive spaces within educational institutions. The administration also plans to set up 100 modern and free public toilets exclusively for women across the city.
