Pune, 10 October 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has provided a significant festive incentive for its employees this Diwali. All officers and staff, including daily wage earners, will receive an 8.33% bonus based on their basic salary and dearness allowance for the 2024-25 period.
Additionally, they will be granted an ex-gratia payment of ₹25,000. This entire sum is set to be credited to the employees' accounts before the Diwali festivities.
In a positive development for employees, the PMC administration has raised the ex-gratia grant by ₹2,000 this year. This marks the first hike in the grant amount in many years, promising a 'sweet' Diwali for Pune's workers. The decision follows a lengthy period during which the grant amount stayed the same, making this increase especially appreciated.
The advantage is broadly distributed among the corporation's personnel. It encompasses not just the regular officers and employees, but also daily wage earners, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff from the secondary, technical education, and Balwadi (nursery) sectors. The Pune Municipal Corporation's Finance and Accounts Department has released a circular about the bonus, directing all departments to finish reviewing all bills by October 10th to ensure the amount is disbursed on time.
A key requirement for obtaining the grant for the 2023-24 year is that the employee must have a minimum actual attendance of 180 days. The estimated total financial allocation for this distribution from the PMC's treasury is around ₹150 crore.
