Pune: Kondana Fort widely known as Sinhagad Fort which is pride of Pune will soon get a saffron flag erected here. The Standing Committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) recently gave a nod to erect a saffron flag at the fort.
The Committee also reserved Rs one crore for the same project. The Standing Committee of PMC gave its approval for this spending at a meeting recently. Also, around Rs 74 lakh would be spent on the redecoration of the entry gate to the Sinhagad Fort and areas in the vicinity. Standing Committee chairman Hemant Rasne stated that the municipal corporation had made provisions for the project all parties here approved it. He also stated that the general body will also give the nod for the project.
Meanwhile, in another developmental move, Maharashtra Tourism Development Centre (MTDC) has also finalised to construct a resort at Pune’s pride, Sinhagad Fort. An official from the MTDC had earlier stated that the resort will be made available for tourists in this month as the work was suspended amid COVID-19 outbreak while the fort also remained closed. Also, the authorities are planning to begin multiple activities here. It has also planned to set up a museum and an amphitheatre.
