Pune, 17 October 2025: The eagerly anticipated Pune Book Festival, known as one of the largest and most renowned literary event in Maharashtra, is scheduled to take place from December 13 to 21 at the Fergusson College grounds. Now in its third year, the festival has grown considerably in both size and participation compared to past editions.

During a press conference, National Book Trust Director Yuvraj Malik and Festival Convener Rajesh Pandey revealed that the event will once more present a diverse array of literary and cultural activities for book enthusiasts throughout India.

This year's event will present more than 800 booths displaying books in different Indian languages, accompanied by a six-day Pune Lit Fest, a Children's Corner for young readers, and an Authors' Corner for writer interactions. The festival will also feature daily book launches, cultural performances, and interactive sessions with renowned authors, journalists, and artists from all over the country.

Pandey stated that the event this year is anticipated to draw over 1.5 million attendees, with book sales potentially reaching several crores of rupees. He further noted that the festival receives substantial backing from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune Municipal Corporation, Deccan Education Society, and Samarth Yuva Foundation.

This year's edition, with more than 700 stalls compared to last year, highlights Pune's increasing prominence as a lively centre for reading culture. Malik mentioned that the Pune Lit Fest will now extend over six days, with three days solely focused on Marathi literature, honouring regional voices and traditions alongside national and international works.
