Pune, 20th August 2026: A case has been registered against a Pimpri-based man for allegedly posing as a representative of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) and using forged documents to obtain government facilities, causing an alleged loss of around ₹20 lakh.

The accused has been identified as Dharmendra Brijlal Sonkar, a resident of Pimpri.

According to the complaint, Sonkar was not a representative of the NCBC for Maharashtra and Goa but allegedly falsely claimed to hold the position. He reportedly created a fake letterhead in the name of the commission and submitted it to the Pune District Collectorate.

Using the forged document, he allegedly secured unauthorised access to a government rest house in Lonavala and obtained other government facilities.

The complaint also alleges that Sonkar received escort services from Pune Rural Police by presenting himself as a commission representative. He allegedly used the false identity and documents to mislead the Collectorate and other government departments.
