Pune, 29 April 2026: The Congress has criticized the BJP-led administration in Pune, accusing it of prioritizing corruption over public welfare during its first 100 days in power. The party claimed that civic governance has become directionless and transparency exists only in statements, not in action.
Speaking at a press conference, city president Arvind Shinde and group leader Adv. Ramchandra alias Chandusheth Kadam said that the administration is failing to address key civic issues while allegedly enjoying support from officials.
Shinde stated that the BJP’s pre-election promises remain largely unfulfilled. He pointed out that assurances such as property tax relief for homes up to 500 square feet and concessions for properties owned by women have not been implemented, leading to public dissatisfaction.
He also highlighted a lack of coordination among BJP leaders, which has resulted in internal conflicts and delays in important civic projects.
Kadam raised concerns about multiple governance failures, including worsening traffic congestion, irregular water supply, and issues in recruitment and promotions within PMPML.
He also alleged irregularities in hoarding permissions and flaws in waste management projects. According to him, instead of addressing these issues, the ruling party is pushing forward problematic proposals related to waste management.
The Congress leaders concluded that the current administration has failed to control irregularities and deliver on basic civic needs, raising serious questions about its priorities and accountability.
