Pune, 27th July 2026: A 16-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by a 20-year-old man over a personal dispute related to the victim's relationship with the accused's sister. The incident took place on Saturday morning near the garbage depot in Fursungi on the outskirts of Pune.
The deceased has been identified as Tanish Vikas Rayakwar, a resident of Kondhwa Budruk. Based on a complaint lodged by his uncle, Ajay Rayakwar, at Fursungi Police Station, police registered a murder case and launched an investigation.
Police arrested the main accused, Rohit Sandip Khade (20), a resident of Pansare Nagar in Yewalewadi. A minor who allegedly helped him carry out the crime has also been detained and sent to an observation home as per legal procedure.
According to the investigation, Khade was upset over Tanish's relationship with his sister. He, along with the minor accomplice, allegedly took the teenager to an isolated area near the Fursungi garbage depot, where they attacked him with a sharp weapon and a stone, leading to his death.
Investigating officer Assistant Police Inspector Bhushan Potawade said that the accused has a criminal record and had been involved in an ongoing dispute with the victim over the relationship. The investigation indicates that the murder was planned following this personal conflict.
Police have booked the accused under Sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Further investigation into the case is underway.
