Pune, 5th September 2026: Pune police have registered a case against Sri Krishna Tarun Mandal at Bibwewadi Ota for violating conditions related to its Dahihandi celebration. The action is reportedly the first case registered against a Dahihandi mandal in Pune this year for noise pollution.
The mandal had obtained permission from the police station to conduct the celebration with traditional musical instruments. However, the permission allowed the use of only four bass and four top speakers.
According to the police, the mandal installed eight bass speakers and eight top speakers, twice the permitted number. The excessive use of loudspeakers led to noise pollution in the public area and caused inconvenience to local residents.
Police seized the sound system and registered a case against Rahul Prakash Jagtap, president of Sri Krishna Tarun Mandal.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had earlier warned organisers that permission would be limited to four bass and four top speakers during the celebrations.
Police had also made it clear that action would be taken against organisers who exceeded the permitted limit or caused noise pollution.
