Pune, 24th August 2026: A tragic accident took place near Brahma Hotel in Manik Baug on Sinhagad Road at around 10:30 am on Monday, leaving a young woman dead. The incident occurred when she reportedly fell onto the road while boarding a crowded PMPML bus travelling from Khanapur towards Swargate.

According to preliminary information, the woman was a second-year engineering student and was reportedly standing near the door of the PMPML bus. The bus was heavily crowded, and she lost her balance while trying to board the vehicle.

As she fell onto the road, a school bus travelling behind the PMPML bus reportedly ran over her. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared her dead before treatment could begin. The woman is reportedly from Rajasthan, though her identity has not yet been officially confirmed.

The accident occurred during the busy morning period when Sinhagad Road experiences heavy traffic due to office, school and college commuters. The incident caused panic in the area and briefly disrupted traffic movement. Police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
