

Pune, 16th July 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) Standing Committee has approved ₹137 crore for resurfacing and repairing around 130 kilometres of roads across the city ahead of the Pune Grand Tour 2027, an international cycling competition.
The road improvement work aims to provide a smooth and safe racing route while also benefiting daily commuters by improving road conditions.
The district administration has announced that the second edition of the Pune Grand Tour will be held from January 26 to January 31, 2027.
Following the successful hosting of the inaugural edition, Pune will once again welcome cyclists from India and abroad for the international-level competition.
In addition to the city road repairs, more than 700 kilometres of roads across Pune district will also undergo repair and maintenance before the event.
The large-scale infrastructure work is expected to improve connectivity, enhance road safety, and ensure that both the city and surrounding areas are ready to host the prestigious cycling competition.
