Pune, 5th November 2025: The Maharashtra government has announced two new Pune Metro routes from Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor and Hadapsar to Saswad Road railway station. The decision was taken by the Cabinet Infrastructure Committee chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.
Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar confirmed the approval, stating that the proposal, first cleared by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in February, will now go before the State Cabinet and then be sent to the Union government for final approval.
These lines are part of the larger Phase-II Metro plan covering Khadakwasla to Kharadi via Hadapsar. Maha-Metro submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the new stretch to PMC earlier this year.
The two spur routes will together measure about 16 km and include 14 elevated stations.
Hadapsar–Loni Kalbhor: 11.35 km, 10 stations
Hadapsar–Saswad Road station: 5.57 km, 4 stations
Officials said the new corridors will help ease congestion on Pune–Solapur Road and encourage people to shift from private vehicles, reducing travel time and pollution. These routes will serve rapidly developing areas including Hadapsar, Fursungi, Loni Kalbhor, and Saswad.
Planned stations on the Hadapsar–Loni Kalbhor line include Hadapsar Phata, Bus Depot, Akashwani–Hadapsar, Laxmi Colony, Stad Farm, Manjari Phata, Draksha Baug, Toll Naka, Wak Vasti and Loni Kalbhor.
The Hadapsar–Saswad Road station line will have Hadapsar Gliding Club, Fursungi IT Park, Sulabh Garden and Saswad Road Railway Station.
Officials said the project will bring safer and faster connectivity to commuters in eastern Pune and neighbouring suburbs, helping reduce vehicular load on busy corridors.
