Pune, 10th September 2026: Metro has announced a special operating schedule for Ganeshotsav to handle the expected increase in passenger traffic towards central parts of the city. The extended schedule will remain in force from September 14 to 26, with trains operating every five minutes during peak hours.
From September 14 to 16, services will run from 6 am to 11 pm. From September 17 to 24, trains will operate until 2 am to support late-night travel during the festival.
On September 25, Anant Chaturdashi, Metro services will run continuously from 6 am on September 25 to 11 pm on September 26, providing 41 hours of uninterrupted service. Regular timings will resume from September 27.
Metro officials have advised commuters to use alternative stations to reduce crowding at stations closest to the Peth areas.
Passengers travelling towards the Peth areas on Line 1 should preferably alight at Kasba Peth. On Line 2, passengers coming from Vanaz can use Deccan Gymkhana, while those travelling from Ramwadi can use PMC station.
Commuters have also been advised to avoid changing lines at District Court station during the festival and instead use Kasba Peth, PMC or Chhatrapati Sambhaji Udyan, depending on their route.
Passengers travelling towards central Pune have been advised to avoid getting down at Mahatma Phule Mandai station and use it preferably while returning.
The station will operate in unidirectional mode from September 14 to 26. Gate 3, near the Lokmanya Tilak statue, will be used for entry, while Gate 2 on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road will be used for exit.
The special schedule and station arrangements are aimed at ensuring smoother travel and better crowd management during the Ganeshotsav celebrations in central Pune.
