Pune, 2nd March 2026: Pune Metro services will remain suspended on Tuesday, March 3, on account of Dhulivandan. Metro operations across all corridors will be closed from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, officials said.
The metro administration stated, "On the occasion of Dhulivandan, passenger services will remain suspended from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Services will resume from 3:00 PM onwards and continue till 11:00 PM as per the regular schedule."
Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly, especially those who depend on morning services for office or other essential travel.
In addition to the temporary suspension, Pune Metro will also implement a new ticket-checking system from the same day. Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates at stations will remain closed by default and will open only after passengers scan a valid QR ticket, metro smart card, or WhatsApp ticket.
Officials said the move is aimed at strengthening ticket verification and preventing unauthorized entry at metro stations. Once a ticket is successfully scanned, the gate will open to allow entry or exit and will automatically close after the passenger passes through.
With both the service suspension and the new access system coming into effect on March 3, metro authorities have urged passengers to stay informed and cooperate with the updated arrangements.
