Pune, 13 December 2025: A 28-year-old woman was injured after a road rage incident escalated into a violent attack in Pune’s Punawale area on December 6, 2025. The incident occurred when three unidentified youths on a scooter allegedly stopped a car, abused its occupants, and damaged the vehicle by throwing stones.

According to the police complaint, the woman was travelling with her fiancé from Hinjewadi towards Mumbai in a car when the incident took place near Gaikwad Nagar, close to a wine shop. The scooter, carrying three youths in a triple-seat violation, overtook the car from the left side and brushed against it. When the car driver honked, the youths reportedly became aggressive.

The scooter riders allegedly moved ahead, blocked the car, and began abusing and threatening the occupants. One of them allegedly threw a stone at the car’s front windshield. Fearing for their safety, the couple tried to leave the spot but got stuck in traffic near the Punawale underpass.

The youths then caught up with the car again and allegedly pelted stones, smashing all the windows and damaging the vehicle’s body. During the attack, a shard of broken glass hit the woman’s left eye, causing injury. The accused fled the scene immediately after the incident.

The injured woman was first taken to a local hospital in Punawale and later shifted to Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad for further treatment, where she is currently undergoing medical care.

Police have registered a case against the unidentified accused under Sections 126(2), 125, 125(a), 324(4), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. An investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to identify and trace the scooter-borne attackers.
