Pune, 10 September 2025: On Friday night, a late-night horror movie showing at a Chinchwad INOX multiplex turned violent after a dispute over 'spoilers' led to a physical altercation, injuring a techie and his wife.

The 29-year-old software engineer was watching The Conjuring: Last Rites with his wife and sister when a man sitting behind them continuously described scenes to his wife, ruining the suspense. When the techie requested him to stop, the situation escalated after the intermission leading to a brawl.

In his complaint, the technician alleged that the person started by verbally abusing him and then physically attacked him, grabbing him by the collar and hitting and kicking him in the face and stomach. When the technician's wife tried to step in, the accused and his wife allegedly assaulted her as well.

The couple suffered injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital before lodging a complaint with the Chinchwad police on Sunday. Senior police inspector Bangar confirmed that a case has been filed against the accused, a resident of Vallabhnagar, and his wife under Sections 117 (grievous hurt), 115 (causing hurt), and 352 (provoking breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. 'The accused and his wife were arrested within 24 hours,' he stated, noting that further investigation is ongoing.
