Pune, 11 May 2026: Traffic movement on the Hadapsar–Mundhwa route was severely affected on Monday morning after a truck broke down on the Mundhwa bridge. The incident took place around 9:15 am when the truck’s axle reportedly snapped, leaving the vehicle stranded in the middle of the bridge.

The breakdown led to heavy traffic congestion on the busy stretch connecting Hadapsar, Mundhwa and Kharadi during peak morning hours. Long queues of vehicles were reported as commuters struggled to pass through the affected road.

In response, the Mundhwa Traffic Division issued an advisory asking motorists to use alternate routes until the truck is removed. Officials stated that traffic diversions would remain in place till around 11:30 am to avoid further congestion in the area.

Vehicles travelling from Hadapsar towards Mundhwa and Kharadi have been diverted via the road near Cult Hotel towards Jahangir Nagar Chowk, Tadi Gutta Chowk and Mundhwa Chowk.

Another alternate route has been arranged from Noble Hospital through Magarpatta South Gate, Kad Wasti, Jahangir Nagar Chowk and Tadi Gutta Chowk.

Traffic police have been deployed at major junctions to regulate movement and assist commuters. Authorities appealed to citizens to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and follow police instructions to ensure smooth and safe travel.
