Following the new traffic arrangements, the main road connecting Pashan Road to the university via Abhimanshree Chowk has been completely closed. Similarly, the route from Baner Road towards Pashan Road through the SP Office and Police Ground has also been shut.

Authorities have instead opened the stretch from university Chowk towards Baner for two-way traffic, while the road towards Pashan has been made one-way.

Due to these changes, vehicles coming from the Pashan side cannot directly reach the university junction. Commuters are now forced to travel towards Baner and take a U-turn near Sindh Colony before heading to their destination, resulting in longer travel time and additional fuel consumption.

Local residents have demanded that traffic on Pashan Road should be restored in both directions to reduce unnecessary detours. Citizens have also urged authorities to install traffic signals at Abhimanshree Chowk to better regulate the increasing flow of vehicles.

The revised traffic system has not only affected motorists but also pedestrians and public transport users. Passengers getting down at the university junction now have to walk up to Abhimanshree Chowk to reach Aundh or Baner, while those heading towards Sakal Nagar must also walk further from the bus stop.

As a result of these changes, Abhimanshree Chowk is witnessing severe traffic congestion, especially during peak morning and evening hours. Many commuters say that while the flyover was expected to ease traffic, the current arrangements have made daily travel more difficult.

Residents have urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the traffic police to review the new system and introduce immediate corrections to ensure smoother traffic movement in the area.
