Pune, June 2025: The Dhayari Phata flyover on Sinhagad Road has become very bad due to heavy traffic and dumpers carrying cement from nearby RMC plants. Big potholes and rainwater have made the road slippery and dangerous. Drivers and local people are facing problems every day because of this.
People say potholes cause traffic jams and accidents, especially for two-wheeler riders who cannot see the potholes under rainwater. “Due to poor quality work, the asphalt patch on the road has disappeared, costing lakhs of rupees. It is a picture of the money of honest taxpayers being squandered,” said angry citizens.
Ganesh Shinde, a driver, said, “Due to heavy traffic, the roads have become slippery and large potholes have appeared in many places. This is causing inconvenience to the drivers.” Locals say it is risky for students, old people, and pregnant women to travel on this stretch.
Vilas Navali, Executive Engineer at the Pune Municipal Corporation, said, “Action has been taken against two RMC plants in Vadgaon for not taking permission from the construction department to start RMC plants. Also, action will be taken against the plant in Dhayari in the next few days.” Citizens want quick repairs and strict action to stop this problem.
