Major roads, flyovers and busy junctions across the city, including suburban areas, are witnessing frequent traffic rule violations. Triple-seat riding on two-wheelers, particularly among youngsters, has become a regular sight. Many riders are also seen speeding and performing dangerous stunts, increasing the risk of accidents.

Wrong-side driving has also emerged as a major concern. To save time or avoid taking longer routes, many motorists continue to drive against the flow of traffic, creating hazardous situations for oncoming vehicles and causing several minor and major accidents.

Residents have also expressed concern over the growing number of vehicles without number plates or with tampered registration plates. In several cases, riders use decorative or fancy lettering instead of displaying the official registration number, making it difficult for authorities to identify offenders.

Citizens believe such unidentified vehicles could be misused for criminal activities, thefts or hit-and-run cases, making stricter enforcement essential.

Residents have urged the Traffic Police to focus on effective traffic regulation while taking firm action against habitual violators. They have suggested that vehicles involved in repeated offences should be seized and the driving licences of offenders suspended.

Citizens have also appealed to the authorities to conduct special enforcement drives not only on major roads but also in suburban areas to curb violations and improve road safety across Pune.
