Pune, 22 July 2025: Shiv Sena workers staged a protest at the entry gate of Lavasa city on Friday, opposing the ₹500 fee collected from visitors under the label of a "parking charge." Party members alleged that the fee was unjustified, as no parking or related services were being provided in return.

Currently, tourists are being charged ₹200 for two-wheelers and ₹500 for four-wheelers upon entering the privately developed hill city. The protestors accused the administration of exploiting the public in the name of tourism fees.
