Delhi, 1st September 2026: Pune passengers travelling from Delhi to Pune on SpiceJet flight SG 939 have alleged that repeated changes to the flight schedule caused significant inconvenience and financial loss.
The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 4.55 pm on August 31. However, the departure was repeatedly pushed back to 4 am, 6 am, 8.30 am and finally 9.30 am.
With no adequate arrangements made by the airline, passengers were forced to remain in Delhi overnight. The delay resulted in additional expenses of around ₹12,400 towards hotel accommodation, food and travel.
The passengers also alleged that they faced rude behaviour from SpiceJet staff during check-in at Delhi airport on September 1.
A dispute reportedly broke out over the weight of the baggage. Despite the passengers explaining that the baggage had arrived from Leh in the same condition, a senior airline official allegedly used insulting language and threatened to lock their tickets.
The passengers said such behaviour added to the distress caused by the repeated flight delays and lack of proper assistance.
Passengers Adv. Satish Gorde and Adv. Sayali Gorde have filed a complaint over the incident and demanded reimbursement of the additional expenses, compensation for the inconvenience and strict administrative action against the officials involved.
They have also warned that they will approach the consumer court if the airline fails to address their complaints.
