PUNE: The Bharatiya Kala Prasarini Sabha, in association with the Pune Police Traffic Department on Monday organised a poster exhibition on traffic and road safety awareness, which was presented by students of the Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya at Raja Ravi Verma Art Gallery on Ghole Road. The exhibition was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police K Venkatesham.
The students made 420 posters with an aim to make people aware of traffic rules and regulations and what would happen if they are not followed. The exhibition will be open until February 13. Deputy Commissioner of Pune Police (Traffic) Tejasvi Satpute, Secretary of Bharatiya Kala Prasarini Sabha Pushkaraj Pathak, Head of Pune Municipal Corporation’s Anti-encroachment Department Madhav Jagtap and RTO Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Raut were present for the event.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Venkatesham said, “We always try and spread awareness about traffic rules and regulations. However, such exhibitions will also promote rules and regulations. It is good to see that the young generation is involved in understanding the rules and regulations. This will, in turn, help society to follow the traffic rules.”
Satpute said, “The four Es, which include education, engineering, enforcement and emergency should go hand-in-hand, which would help solve any problem. Such exhibitions prove a helping hand for us in improving traffic safety.”
Pathak said, “Spreading awareness about traffic rules and regulations is not only the responsibility of traffic police officers but we are also equally responsible to aware citizens about it. The exhibition not only displays traffic rule and safety, but the pictures also give an in-depth message of what would happen to a person if not followed it properly.”
