Pune, 24 June 2025: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is conducting supplementary exams for Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) from today, June 24. This year, the exams are being held earlier than usual, starting in June instead of the typical July-August period.
A total of 34,562 students have registered for the Class 10 supplementary exam, while 68,098 students will appear for the Class 12 exam. This includes 24,245 boys, 10,316 girls, and 1 transgender candidate for Class 10; and 45,144 boys, 22,953 girls, and 1 transgender candidate for Class 12.
These exams provide a second chance to students who could not clear one or more subjects in the main February-March board exams, as well as to those wishing to improve their grades.
The supplementary exams are being held by the Board’s nine divisional offices in Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan. The Class 10 exams will continue until July 8, while the Class 12 exams will go on until July 16, according to Board Secretary Devidas Kulal.
Students must follow the printed timetable provided by the Board. They should reach the exam hall by 10:30 am for the morning session and by 2:30 pm for the afternoon session. Question papers will be distributed at 11 am and 3 pm respectively. Like the main exams, students will get an additional ten minutes beyond the scheduled paper time.
Marks for practicals, orals, internal assessments, and grade improvement exams will be uploaded online, Kulal added.
