NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule met with a road accident on Saturday night while travelling from Pune to Mumbai, when her vehicle was hit by another car. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Sule herself confirmed the incident through a WhatsApp status, reassuring that she and all passengers were safe, attributing her safety to wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Describing the incident, she said the accident occurred when another vehicle suddenly collided with her car from the side, leaving them startled. She also stressed that road accidents are often unpredictable and not always caused by one’s own driving.
“Accidents don’t depend only on how you drive. The driver in front may be careless. Luckily, I was wearing a seatbelt. We are all safe. It was frightening when the car hit us suddenly from the side. Everyone, please be careful,” she said in her message.
She also used the opportunity to urge commuters to follow basic road safety practices, especially the use of seatbelts while travelling.
