Lenskart, India’s eyewear powerhouse, is stepping deeper into the world of smart wearables by announcing its collaboration with Qualcomm to use Snapdragon chipsets in its upcoming smart glasses. The announcement came from co-founder and CEO Peyush Bansal during the Snapdragon for India XR Day held in New Delhi, marking a significant leap in the company’s ambition to blend eyewear and advanced technology.
The new smart glasses will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform, a leading-edge chipset known for robust AI, AR (augmented reality), and low-power processing capabilities. Industry watchers suggest Lenskart could adopt either the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 or W5 Gen 1 chips, depending on whether the product is optimized for advanced AR features or for lightweight AI smart glasses similar to models like Ray-Ban’s Meta Glasses
These features build on Lenskart's earlier Phonic model, which offered Bluetooth audio and voice assistance. The new collaboration aims to push the envelope on what smart glasses can deliver to Indian and global consumers.
Peyush Bansal highlighted that the partnership with Qualcomm is not just about adopting new hardware but driving innovation in smart eyewear. By integrating Snapdragon chips, Lenskart wants to offer a much “smarter, smoother connected experience” for tech lovers and the wider public.
The decision to partner with Qualcomm places Lenskart as a frontrunner in India’s expanding XR (extended reality) and wearable market. The development aligns with growing consumer interest in smart glasses globally, and strengthens India’s position as a hub for the next wave of personal computing devices.
In February 2025, Lenskart launched the “Phonic” smart glasses, priced at ₹4,000, which already included features like AI voice assistants and Bluetooth audio. The next-gen device promises further enhancements, leveraging Snapdragon’s superior processing, AI, and AR ecosystem.
While Bansal did not announce a release date or detailed feature list, insider reports suggest Lenskart's new smart glasses could be unveiled within the next product cycle. The company aims to balance premium technology with everyday durability and style, targeting both tech enthusiasts and mainstream eyewear buyers.
