Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 Max is headed to India, with the company opening a dedicated microsite for the device on Flipkart, offering the first official look at its design while teasing upgrades in AI performance and wireless charging.
The Edge 70 Max will be the fifth phone in Motorola's Edge 70 series in India, following the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro and Edge 70 Pro+. Its arrival had been previously flagged through a Bureau of Indian Standards certification listing and a WPC filing confirming the name and 25W wireless charging, ahead of Motorola's own confirmation.
Motorola Edge 70 Max: Design and display
Images on Motorola's Flipkart microsite indicate that the Edge 70 Max will feature a flat display and flat rear panel, unlike the curved design used on the Edge 70 Pro and Pro+. The phone appears to have a square camera module housing three rear cameras and an LED flash. Leaked renders also show a centrally positioned punch-hole display, slim bezels and an additional button on the left edge, which is expected to function as a Moto AI shortcut.
Leaks suggest the Edge 70 Max will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. If accurate, it would become the highest-end processor in the Edge 70 lineup, replacing the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme found in the Edge 70 Pro+. Motorola has also claimed a 46% improvement in NPU performance over the previous generation for on-device AI tasks.
The Edge 70 Max is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a primary, telephoto and ultrawide sensor. Motorola has also confirmed support for wireless charging, expanding the feature beyond the Edge 70 Pro+.
Leak suggests the Motorola Edge 70Max can come in three colour options: Onyx Black, Sage Green and Glacier Blue. The device is also expected to ship with Motorola's Qira AI assistant, offering features such as real-time translation, text summarisation, AI search and photo editing.
Motorola has not announced pricing. However, the Edge 70 Max is expected to be positioned above the Edge 70 Pro+, which starts at ₹47,999 in India. For comparison, Motorola's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered Signature model is priced from ₹57,499.
