FM Nirmala Sitharaman, in budget 2021, proposed a national highway projects in the four poll-bound states – Kerela, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Assam – where elections are due this year.

For Tamil Nadu, FM Sitharaman annouched 3500 km of national highway work at an investment of Rs 1.03 lakh crore.

For the state of Kerala, she proposed 1100 km of national highway work at an investment of Rs 65,000 crore, including 600 km section of the Mumbai-Kanyakumari corridor.

For West Bengal, FM proposed 6700 km of national highway work at an investment of Rs 25,000 crore.

For Assam, FM annouched 1300 km of national highway at a cost of Rs 34,000 crore.

Elections are due in all these four states in coming months this year.
