No relief to consumers; fuel prices on rise

New Delhi: For the fourth straight day, fuel prices surged with no respite to consumers as rates of both petrol and diesel were marginally hiked on Wednesday.

While diesel can be bought at Rs 69.75 per litre in Delhi today, in Mumbai it is costing Rs. 74.05 per litre. In Kolkata it is being sold at Rs. 72.60 per litre and Rs. 73.69 per litre in Chennai, according to daily price notification issued by state-owned oil firms.

Petrol is selling at a price of Rs. 78.18 per litre in Delhi. In Mumbai, petrol is retailing at Rs.85.60 per litre while Rs. 81.11 per litre in Kolkata and Rs. 81.22 per litre in Chennai. The revised rates are applicable from 0600 hrs on August 29, 2018.
