To commemorate the historic inscription of twelve Maratha forts as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the ‘Maratha Military Landscapes’ designation, Saisha Productions in Mumbai is organizing the week-long Shiv Sanskar Festival 2025.

Scheduled for September 7–14 at the P. L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy in Prabhadevi, the event promises to be a vibrant fusion of Maharashtra’s rich history, art, and cultural heritage.

The twelve forts—Raigad, Vijaydurg, Salher, Shivneri, Lohgad, Gingee, Rajgad, Pratapgad, Panhala, Khanderi, Suvarnadurg, and Sindhudurg—have been inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List as part of the “Maratha Military Landscapes of India” UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

From hilltop citadels to sea forts, each structure—Raigad, Shivneri, Pratapgad, and others—embodies Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s lasting legacy of leadership, unity, and integrity UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

With over 150 art pieces crafted both by painter Ram Deshmukh and AI-driven tools—on display in a specially curated gallery, the festival intends to bring that legacy to life. The galleries will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sept. 7–13.

Anil Nalawade, author and creative director behind the festival, said: “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s story transcends military triumphs. It’s about vision, character, and civic duty. Through the Shiv Sanskar Festival, we want today’s youth to inherit—and live by—those enduring values.” This year marks the 15th anniversary of Saisha Productions’ mission to preserve and share Maharashtra’s cultural heritage.
