Popular TV actors on board for Tennis Premier League

Here is some great news for the tennis fans out there! Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain’s Tennis Premier League, co-powered by Yonex Sunrise and in association with MSLTA, has finally revealed the first four faces of the league — actors Sumona Chakravarti, Aishwarya Sakhuja, Pooja Gor and Rashami Desai. These TV actors have played amazing roles on television. Sumona was seen playing the character of Manju Sharma in Comedy Nights with Kapil whereas Aishwarya was seen the daily soap Saas Bina Sasural where she played the character of Toasty. Along with these two actors, Uttaran’s Tapasya aka Rashami Desai as well as Pooja Gor of Mann Kee Awaz Pratigya will be seen playing tennis.  

Sumona is excited to be the face of her team and says, “My love for sports got me on board. This is an excellent opportunity for players of all age groups.” While Aishwarya adds, “I always wanted to pursue tennis. I am glad I’m following my passion.” 

Talking about the team she is representing, Rashami says, “I’m very happy about representing my team Binny’s Brigade. My fans will see me in a totally new sporty avatar.” A sports enthusiast herself, Pooja says, “I’m an athlete and I’m very kicked that tennis as a sport is going to reach each and every home,” she says.

The league is to kick off its first edition at The Celebration Sports Club, Lokhandwala in October. 

The 6 teams namely - Binnys Brigade, The Stallions, Black Panther, Sea Hawks, Leon Army, Timber Wolves will have players of all ages from across the country battle it out at the tennis courts. The league is going to be graced by Leander Paes and many other celebrities.
