Siddharth P Malhotra stands up for writers in Bollywood

Sakal Times

With a deluge of content trying to find a voice across different platforms, it has become imperative that understanding audience sensibilities and preferences is a must. Writer-director Siddharth P Malhotra, who has crafted compelling and well-researched scripts, believes that writing is key to making a good film or television show, but adds that not always do writers get their due.

“Today the audience has  a host of options to choose from and we must produce only the best if we want them to invest their time in us. Having an A-list actor can get you only a certain reach, but having a good writer on board will ensure you have got the audience right where you want. It is the writer whose thought translates to a film and he must get his due,” says Siddharth.

“I have personally been on the other side and having worked on umpteen scripts, it has become clear that without a story or clarity in the writing, the film stands crippled,” added the director of Hichki.
