Akanksha Chamola has confirmed that she and Gaurav Khanna are moving towards a divorce. Despite this, many social media users remain doubtful about their separation, pointing out that her official Instagram account still features Gaurav's surname.
Amid the continuing attention, Akanksha posted an Instagram Story in which she tagged Meta, Meta India, and Instagram, requesting urgent help to change her username. She explained that repeated attempts to update it had failed because of verification-related limitations. It is still uncertain whether she intends to modify her Instagram handle to reflect her maiden name or adopt a completely new username. It also remains unverified whether this request is connected to her ongoing divorce.
Akanksha posted on her Instagram Story, "@meta @metaindia @instagram requesting urgent help with changing my username." She went on to explain, "Because of the existing verification-related limitations, we have not been able to update the username despite several attempts." In conclusion, Akanksha appealed to Meta’s team to look into the matter and recommend a solution. She added, "We would be grateful if your team could examine the issue and suggest a possible resolution."
Since Akanksha spoke about her divorce on Lock Upp 2, many have questioned whether she was allegedly using it to boost TRPs. After leaving the show, the media asked her the same question. She responded, "I don’t think any woman would go on such a big platform and say she is divorcing her husband just for TRPs." The actress further stated that she and Gaurav’s legal team are currently handling the divorce paperwork. She also mentioned that she had been in contact with the legal team both before joining Lock Upp 2 and after returning from the show. Akanksha added that the couple now only needs to sign the documents to officially finalise their divorce.
