Imran Khan returned to the big screen with the movie Happy Patel. During their debuts in the early 2000s, he and actor Ranbir Kapoor were seen as some of the most promising young talents. Imran took a break from acting after 2015, whereas Ranbir has become a leading star in recent years. Imran recently remarked that he views Ranbir as an 'exceptionally talented' actor, although he has not yet seen Ranbir's latest film, Animal.
Imran's statement
In an interview with News18, Imran mentioned, "It's not very usual for actors to collaborate on films. Because of this, there are fewer chances to become acquainted with actors of the same age group. Over the past few years, I've been somewhat detached from Indian cinema. I haven't seen Animal... It's challenging to comment on his development in recent years. However, when I was actively involved in the industry, I watched all of his movies."
He possesses a powerful intuition
He further mentioned, "I've always regarded him as an exceptionally talented actor. From our discussions, I perceive him as someone deeply engaged with cinema. He possesses a keen instinct and contemplates thoroughly about the art of acting and the cinematic language, which is evident in his performances."
Animal, released in 2023, was a highly violent action drama that delved into a complex father-son dynamic. Ranbir took on the role of Ranvijay Vijay Singh, a character molded by the emotional scars left by his aloof father, played by Anil Kapoor. The movie achieved significant box office success, earning over ₹900 crore globally.
Ranbir's future endeavors
Ranbir is presently involved in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, a period drama set in the 1960s featuring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, scheduled to premiere in June 2026. Additionally, he will appear later this year in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part One, portraying the character of Lord Ram.
