Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Collection Day 1 Live: Rishab Shetty's film has made a bang-on start at the box office, showcasing its magic in theatres across the country. The highly anticipated prequel to his 2022 hit, Kantara Chapter 1, finally hit the big screen on Thursday. Written and directed by Shetty, the film has been released in eight languages including Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, English, and Spanish and is available in both standard 2D and IMAX (4D) formats.

Worldwide Box Office Earnings for Kantara Chapter 1 on Day 1

Industry tracker Sacnilk has indicated that Kantara Chapter 1 has already earned ₹60 crore net in India. This information is based on live data from morning shows across the country and may change. The final numbers will be available after the night shows.

Photos from movie theaters throughout India depict festivities, with venues in Bengaluru adorned with flowers, posters, and a large cut-out of Shetty’s character. Initial reviews on X indicate that Kantara Chapter 1 is being well-received.

About the Movie

Kantara Chapter 1 is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films. Besides Shetty, the film stars Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Devaiah in key roles. It debuted on Vijayadashami, facing box office competition from Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

Pre-booking trends for Kantara Chapter 1

On Wednesday, the tracker indicated that Kantara Chapter 1 sold over 400,000 tickets across India in various languages. The film demonstrated robust trends in advance bookings for its first day. It earned ₹13.07 crore (₹130.69 million) nationwide through advance ticket sales. One day before its release, the film sold a total of 475,785 tickets across 12,511 shows.

The Kannada version topped the advance booking earnings, generating ₹7.88 crore from 2,28,947 tickets, while Hindi 2D followed with ₹2.10 crore from 69,512 tickets. Premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema contributed smaller yet significant amounts. Including reserved seats, Kantara: Chapter 1 was projected to have a day 1 box office opening of ₹20.83 crore.
