In his note to fans, Johar wrote: “Digital Detox for a week! No doom scrolling! No DMs! No posts! May the universe give me the strength to stay away!!!!” The message, shared with a light-hearted tone, underscored his intent to step back from the constant flow of online content and commentary.

Johar’s decision comes amid a busy period for the director-producer, whose Dharma Productions has celebrated recent box office hits including Dhurandhar and Border 2. He has also been active on social media in defending colleagues facing online criticism, especially regarding reactions to Border 2 promotions.

Before announcing the break, Johar had shared a Republic Day message and praised the success of those films, saying strong audience response shows Bollywood’s resilience. His upcoming hiatus is seen as a move to balance the pressures of public life with personal well-being.

The term “digital detox” has gained traction among celebrities and professionals as social media’s influence on mental peace becomes a frequent talking point. Johar’s followers reacted with mixed responses online, with many expressing support for his decision while others wished him a restful break.

Johar is expected to resume his normal social media activity after the week-long break, with fans and industry watchers curious to see his next update once he returns.
