At one moment, he dips a piece of the food into the filthy water before eating it, an act that stunned many viewers and became the central focus of the controversy.

The video quickly went viral on social media, drawing thousands of comments and sparking renewed debate over the boundaries of online content, the accountability of influencers, and the drive for internet fame.

Social media users react strongly

The reshared post delivered a harsh rebuke, stating, “If India were even half a serious country, this man would already be in jail for damaging India’s reputation. He has been at the forefront of misrepresenting India for a small payout, doing so repeatedly for years, and many have followed his example.”Comment sections quickly filled with divided opinions. While some users condemned the act as harmful and embarrassing, others treated it humorously or dismissed the outrage.

One commenter wrote, “Chill. Its purification ritual,” while another said, “This single man is responsible for tarnishing India’s bad image.”

Another response conveyed a blend of frustration and sarcasm: "Exactly! But this situation is actually real. One can only feel sorry for this person’s mindset. India, after all, is also a destination for medical tourism, you know."

Debate turns political and religious

As engagement increased, the conversation expanded beyond the video alone. Several comments brought in political and religious perspectives, igniting additional controversy on the internet.A user wrote, “Oh my God… now do you feel any sympathy for Pakistan and see why we had to separate from these repulsive people? Thank God for Jinnah, our liberator. May he rest in peace.”

Another user tried to distance the incident from religion, stating, "Hinduism does not endorse such depravity; this individual’s behavior is absolutely repulsive."Amid the intense reactions, a few users took a lighter approach, with one remarking simply, “He is Puneet Superstar of Indian social media.”

Puneet Superstar is recognized for producing shock-driven, unconventional videos crafted to grab attention on short-form platforms. His content frequently features exaggerated behavior, satire, or provocative scenarios that generate high levels of engagement.
