Television actor Ram Kapoor has shared his views on whether intimate scenes on screen can impact a marriage. In a recent episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, he defended kissing scenes in films and TV, stating that it is a husband’s duty to ensure his wife feels secure, cherished, and emotionally protected. Ram also recounted how his wife, Gautami Kapoor, responded when he shot kissing scenes with other female co-stars.

When Madhuri Grover asked him how a wife could easily watch her husband kiss another actor on screen, Ram responded, "It is our responsibility to ensure our wives feel secure, safe, and deeply loved. I have kissed three different actresses on screen on three separate occasions. Each time, Gautami had no issue with it and happily agreed, because I make her feel so comfortable and cherished that she never needs to be concerned about it."
He said, "I was the one who did what is considered Indian television’s first on-screen kiss, a lip-to-lip kiss with Sakshi Tanwar. Gautami told me, 'make me proud', and I knew how happy she was that her husband was creating history with that first kiss. So you’re completely misunderstanding the situation. I totally disagree with you, and I’m even willing to give you my wife’s number so you can talk to her yourself."
The on-screen kiss shared by Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar in Ektaa Kapoor's hit Sony TV series Bade Achhe Lagte Hain caused a major sensation when it was broadcast in 2011. Occurring after the marriage of the lead characters, Ram and Priya, the moment was widely seen as one of the earliest extended lip-locks between principal protagonists on Indian television. At a time when such intimate portrayals were uncommon on Hindi TV, the sequence ignited extensive discussion and attracted substantial media coverage.
