On Wednesday, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan got his first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. The actor took to Twitter to share the news with fans and followers.

The 55-year-old Salman tweeted, "Took my first dose of vaccine today...." In one of the videos doing rounds on social media, the actor is seen entering Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital with his entourage. More fondly called Sallu Bhai, he covered his face covered with a mask. Salman made his way into the building while maintaining a reasonable distance. Meanwhile, the staff present at the hospital tried to control the paparazzi.

Salman's vaccination happens on the same day that his friend and colleague, superstar Aamir Khan, informed through a statement that he has tested COVID positive. Earlier on Tuesday, Sanjay Dutt received his first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine and shared the news on his official Twitter page.

In his tweet, the actor is seen getting vaccinated. He turned up to take the shot casually, in blue denim and a black T-shirt. He wrote, "Received my first shot of Covid-19 vaccine today at the BKC Vaccine center. I want to congratulate Dr. Dhere and his entire team for doing such a wonderful job! I have so much love and respect for them and their hard work. Jai Hind.”

The spread of coronavirus is a growing concern in Maharashtra. While there are stricter rules to contain the spread, no state-wide lockdown has been announced, yet. COVID-19 attacked Bollywood widely, with Satish Kaushik, Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Manoj Vajpayee and Siddhanta Chaturvedi, among others who contracted the virus. They are all known to be in-home quarantine.

While actor Sanjay Dutt awaits the release of Shamshera and KGF Chapter 2 later this year, Salman will next be seen in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. The Prabhu Deva directorial is Salman's Eid release this year, and all set to hit theatres on May 13. This is one of the big banner films to hit theatres after the cinema trade reopened amid the pandemic. The film also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. Radhe is presented by Salman Khan films in association with Zee Studios, produced by Salma Khan, Sohail Khan and Reel Life Production Private Limited.

Salman has a slew of films lined up. He will be seen in Tiger 3, Kick 2, and Antim: The Final Truth, and has a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan.
