Film could harm Salman Khan's reputation

The notice contends that the film may disrupt ongoing judicial proceedings connected to the case and infringe upon Salman’s personality rights. It further asserts that the project could damage his reputation. As the blackbuck case remains pending before the Rajasthan High Court, the legal notice maintains that the film could interfere with the judicial process. It adds that a sensationalised depiction of the case might create bias against Salman and undermine his right to a fair trial.

Makers allegedly circulating materials, approaching actors

Salman Khan’s legal representatives have further claimed that they learned of the project only after Akshay Pandey was reportedly contacting actors and distributing materials, including the film’s synopsis and character outlines, which referenced Salman’s blackbuck case. The notice also asserts that the actor has neither authorised nor consented to any use of his name, likeness, or any events purportedly associated with him.

‘Attempting to benefit from Salman’s fame’

The notice additionally claims that the project infringes on Salman’s personality and publicity rights by including references to him and incidents linked to him. It alleges that the filmmakers are trying to profit from Salman’s reputation and goodwill by suggesting an implied connection between the actor and the project. The notice further characterizes the film as defamatory, claiming it includes false and misleading insinuations that may harm Salman Khan’s reputation and career. It also alleges that the creators are exploiting controversy to the detriment of the actor’s public image.

Salman’s legal team warns of legal action

In the notice, Salman Khan’s legal representatives have ordered Akshay Pandey and all associated parties to immediately cease all development, production, and promotional work on the film. They have also requested an unconditional written apology from the producers. The notice further warns that failure to comply within 24 hours could result in civil and criminal legal proceedings, including claims for damages and compensation.

Producer reacts

The film’s producer, Amit Jani, responded to the notice on Facebook. He said that the purpose of such notices is to create fear so that people submit to this person’s influence, describing it as a pattern of intimidation. Jani added that he does not give in easily to such pressure. “He may believe I’m done for, but he should know that I am very much still here,” he said in Hindi.
