‘Stranger Things’ may have concluded for now, but fans got an unexpected surprise when ‘Saturday Night Live’ aired a sketch poking fun at the show. The segment lampooned the series’ long-running fan theories and the spinoff rumours that keep resurfacing, whether audiences admit it or not.
Finn Wolfhard, beloved for his role as Mike Wheeler, took on the hosting duties for the episode, and he wasn't solo. Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) joined him, poking fun at the internet's fascination with the show's post-finale scenarios. This SNL reunion stirred up nostalgia, humorously tackled 'conspiracy theories,' and sparked lively discussions among fans once more.
Although there isn't a bonus Episode 9, NBC's Saturday Night Live (SNL) provided a comedic twist by satirizing the enduring conspiracy theories circulating on social media, giving fans a lighthearted conclusion and enabling them to finally conclude the decade-long saga.
The actors collaborated on a pre-recorded skit that humorously envisioned potential spin-offs of the Netflix series. This skit was presented as a mock promotional video revealing a lineup of alternative Stranger Things spin-offs performed by SNL actors. The lineup features a series led by Steve Harrington titled Strangerous Minds and a show centered on Nancy Wheeler called The Wheeler Report.
In the opening act, Finn Wolfhard joked that now that "Stranger Things" is over, he’s ready to act in “Adult films” since he’s no longer a kid. “I gotta tell you: It feels so amazing that 400 million people got to watch me go through puberty. What a dream,” the 23-year-old said. After more jokes, he added, “Stranger Things is over, and I’m not a kid anymore.”
Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin then appeared, saying, “Neither are we.” “Any time you read ‘former child star’ in a headline, it can only mean good things,” Gaten said, while McLaughlin mocked fans who comment on their changing looks.
After a decade-long run, ‘Stranger Things’ ended with the Hawkins gang — Eleven, Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Max, Steve, Hopper, and Joyce, facing Vecna one last time. Volume 1 of Season 5 premiered on November 26, 2025, followed by Volume 2 on December 26, and the final episode on January 1. Netflix also released a new documentary, One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5.
