A surprising duo in Bollywood is Tamannaah Bhatia and Junaid Khan, who are reportedly in discussions to co-star for the first time in Ekta Kapoor's next venture, the third installment of her well-known horror-thriller series, Ragini MMS.
As reported by Pinkvilla, Tamannaah Bhatia and Junaid Khan are in discussions to join Ekta Kapoor's forthcoming movie, titled Ragini 3. The report also mentioned that Shashanka Ghosh, the director of the original Ragini MMS in 2011, will be directing the new film.
Nonetheless, an official announcement from the creators is still pending.
Ragini 3 is postponed following the departure of its director.
According to a recent report from Variety India, the production of the project has been put on hold for the time being. Sahir Raza, the former director who was originally set to lead Ragini MMS 3, has been replaced because of conflicts in his schedule.
According to the publication, Sahir, who is presently the showrunner for a Netflix series, had to be on set every day due to the streaming service's new policy. This requirement conflicted with the filming schedule of Ragini MMS 3, leading the producers to part ways with him and begin the search for a new director.
The report indicated that the movie, now titled Ragini 3, will shift from its horror-erotica origins to focus more on supernatural narratives.
Regarding the franchise
The Ragini MMS series started in 2011 with Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala as the main actors, and was succeeded by Ragini MMS 2 in 2014, featuring Sunny Leone and the hit song Baby Doll. According to sources, the creators aim to replicate that success, now with Tamannaah performing a comparable glamorous song for the upcoming movie.
What lies ahead for Tamannaah and Junaid?
Tamannaah is preparing for the release of VVAN: Force of the Forest, a film featuring Sidharth Malhotra and directed by Deepak Mishra and Arunabh Kumar. This thriller, inspired by mythology, is set to premiere on May 15.
Junaid Khan is set to appear alongside Sai Pallavi in the upcoming film Ek Din. The recently unveiled teaser highlights their chemistry in a charming, classic romantic setting.
