Tej Pratap Yadav’s Workout with Mallika Sherawat in ‘Bhojpuri Bawaal’ Takes Social Media by Storm

Tej Pratap Yadav’s unconventional antics continue to draw media attention. In the latest instance, the Bihar politician appeared on a workout mat alongside Bollywood actor Mallika Sherawat during a segment of the reality show ‘Bhojpuri Bawaal’—a moment that has quickly captured the internet’s interest.

Earlier this year, Yadav became part of Bhojpuri Bawaal, a reality series that showcases the lives of well-known Bhojpuri figures. The show was announced in May and debuted on August 2 on JioHotstar. In a segment that has since gone viral, Sherawat appears as a fitness instructor, leading Tej Pratap, son of veteran politician Lalu Prasad Yadav, through various yoga poses and stretching routines. While Sherawat executes the exercises effortlessly, Tej Pratap visibly struggles to keep up and at one point concedes, “It’s very hard.”

Tej Pratap’s many avatars

Tej Pratap, formerly recognized mainly as the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, has steadily emerged as a social media figure, showcasing diverse interests and multiple public personas.

In 2015, during his tenure as a minister in the Nitish Kumar government, he gained attention for riding a horse to his office. Since then, his social media presence has evolved into a blend of political commentary, spirituality, lifestyle posts, and vlogs, offering followers insight into his diverse interests. Tej Pratap appears in Bhojpuri Bawaal, a programme that chronicles the lives of well-known figures from the regional entertainment industry. The show also includes personalities such as singers and actors Pawan Singh, Nirahua, and Amrapali Dubey. Its format tracks participants’ everyday routines without relying on typical tasks, eliminations, or contrived drama.

When Tej Pratap was jailed

In July 2026, Tej Pratap was arrested and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days after police alleged that his presence and actions contributed to the escalation of protests in Patna over an alleged NEET paper leak, resulting in property damage.

This marked the first time in his political career that the 38-year-old leader was sent to jail. Yadav called on Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke to come to the state and help unseat the BJP-led government headed by Samrat Choudhary. "I, Tej Pratap Yadav, make this special appeal to Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, to come at once to the land of Bihar," said the volatile leader, who had, earlier in the day, been detained by police for backing a shutdown called by Left-wing students’ unions.
