Sushant Singh Rajput’s death: IPS officer probing case forcibly quarantined, says Bihar DGP

Sakal Times News Desk

Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey charged that Vinay Tiwari, the IPS officer from Patna who is in Mumbai to investigate a case related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death, has been ‘forcibly quarantined’.

Bihar police stated that Patna City Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari has been home quarantined by BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) just to stop the Bihar police from investigating Sushant's case and he has been put in 'house arrest' and not in home quarantine.

Tiwari is leading a Bihar Police team which is in Mumbai to probe an ‘abetment to suicide’ case on the base of a complaint filed by the Sushant’s father in Patna.

Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Pandey in his tweet said, "IPS officer Vinay Tiwari reached Mumbai today from Patna on official duty to lead the police team there but he has been forcibly quarantined by BMC officials at 11 PM today.”

"He was not provided accommodation in the IPS mess, despite request, and was staying in a Guest House in Goregaon," he said.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his residence in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14. In July, Sushant Singh Rajput's father lodged an FIR of "abetment to suicide" naming his girlfriend actress Rhea Chakraborty, said to be close to the Sushant and her family members as accused.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police, which is also investigating the death case, have so far recorded statements of around 40 people, including those from Sushant’ family, his cook and people from the film fraternity that include filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Aditya Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and film critic Rajeev Masand.
