Pune: In a shocking incident in Pune’s Viman Nagar, a car fell from the first-floor parking area of a residential building to the ground below. The accident was captured on CCTV, and the video has since gone viral on social media. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the accident, though the car sustained extensive damage, and the driver reportedly suffered injuries.

The accident occurred when a car parked on the first floor of the building was being reversed out of its parking spot. The reverse gear was accidentally engaged, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The car broke through the safety wall of the parking area and plummeted to the ground.

During the fall, the driver was thrown from the driver’s seat to the backseat, possibly causing significant injuries. However, details regarding the extent of the driver’s injuries are yet to be confirmed. On the ground floor, several individuals, including a watchman, were present, but the car landed in a vacant area, preventing further injuries or loss of life.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the quality of safety measures in residential buildings. Many social media users have commented on the viral CCTV footage, questioning how a safety wall could collapse under such circumstances.

One user pointed out that while the car was in reverse gear, it did not appear to gain sufficient speed to cause the wall to break so easily. Others raised concerns about the construction quality of the safety barrier, suggesting that it might have been made with substandard materials.

While the driver’s error is acknowledged, the incident has led to a broader discussion about accountability. Was the weak safety wall to blame for the severity of the accident?

The incident has sparked widespread discussions on social media and among residents about the importance of ensuring safety standards in parking structures and residential buildings.
