Pune: During his visit to Alandi for a foundation stone-laying ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was approached by a group of Congress workers and Warkari students with an urgent appeal to address the issues of prostitution and illicit liquor sales in the area.

Presenting him with roses, the workers emphasized their faith in his leadership and requested immediate action to curb these activities.

Ajit Pawar's visit to Alandi, intended to inaugurate a local development project, took an unexpected turn as his convoy was heading towards Markal Road.

Hearing chants of "Dada, Dada," from a gathering of Congress workers, women, and Warkari students, Pawar halted his vehicle to engage with the crowd. Key figures among the group, including Sandeep Naikare, Ravindra Rawade, and Sanjay Rawade, along with several female activists, presented roses to Pawar as a gesture of their support and respect.

In their brief but impactful interaction, the workers expressed deep concerns about the unchecked proliferation of liquor sales and prostitution in Alandi. They conveyed their dissatisfaction, noting that such activities were occurring openly, even near the revered Mauli temple.

"Dada, we are Congress workers, but we look to you for action. You are the only one we trust to resolve these issues," they asserted, highlighting their belief in Pawar's capability to enforce strict measures.

Responding to the complaints, Deputy CM Pawar assured the group of his commitment to addressing the issues, responding with "Yes, yes," before turning to his secretary, R.B. Chobe, who was present at the scene.

Pawar instructed Chobe to investigate the matter and take necessary steps for enforcement, signaling his intent to act swiftly on the concerns raised.
