Pune: A distressing incident of sexual assault occurred late on Saturday (January 4) night, when a 28-year-old man allegedly abused two 12-year-old boys at a private educational institute in Alandi. The accused, identified as Mahesh Namdev Misal, has been arrested along with his sister following a complaint.
According to police reports, Mahesh entered the minors’ room at around 2:30 a.m. and assaulted them. The following morning, the victims reported the horrifying ordeal to the institute’s authorities. Upon learning of the incident, the authorities approached the Alandi Police.
The police promptly registered a case under the POCSO Act. Mahesh and his sister have been arrested, and further investigations are ongoing. Preliminary findings suggest that the accused had been staying as a guest at the institute.
