Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad branch of the Maharashtra Anti-Superstition Committee has called for the establishment of dedicated cells in all police stations under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate to combat superstitious practices.

The committee submitted a memorandum requesting the prompt formation of these cells to ensure strict enforcement of the Maharashtra Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil, and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act.

The memorandum highlights that these cells will help create public awareness and enhance the law's effectiveness, leading to the prevention of harmful practices such as human sacrifice, black magic, and other inhumane rituals.

The committee emphasized the importance of setting up these cells in all police stations to safeguard the community.

The Maharashtra Director General of Police has already instructed all district police superintendents and special inspectors general to establish similar cells in each police station across the state.

These cells will not only address superstition-related crimes but also cater to policies for the protection of senior citizens.

In response, the Additional Commissioner of Police assured that immediate workshops would be organized to train police officers and staff on the provisions of the anti-black magic law. This training will be rolled out across all police stations.

Present during the submission of the memorandum were key members of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Anti-Superstition Committee, including Sriram Nalawade, Subhash Solanki, Bharat Vitthaldas, Pradeep Tasgaonkar, and Vijay Surve.
