Pune: Aspiring teachers in Maharashtra are eagerly awaiting the Aptitude and Intelligence Test, a crucial requirement for teacher recruitment in the state. The State Examination Council has announced that the test will be conducted online in May and June 2025. The council has also advised candidates to start their preparations well in advance.

Teacher recruitment in Maharashtra is conducted via the Pavitra portal, covering schools under local self-government bodies and private managements. Along with academic qualifications, candidates must qualify in the Aptitude and Intelligence Test, as their scores play a decisive role in the selection process. This test was previously conducted in 2017 and later in 2022. With the second phase of teacher recruitment now in progress, eligible candidates are eagerly waiting for the upcoming examination.

Exam Schedule and Notification Details
State Examination Commissioner Anuradha Oak has confirmed that the Aptitude and Intelligence Test 2025 will be held online in May and June. The official exam notification will be published on the State Examination Council’s website: https://www.mscepune.in.

Teacher Recruitment Process: Second Phase Underway
In the first phase of recruitment, 18,000 teachers were appointed. However, some vacancies remained unfilled. These positions will now be included in the second phase of recruitment, and the Pavitra portal has already started advertisement registration for the vacancies.

According to the 2017 Government Resolution (GR), the Aptitude and Intelligence Test was originally scheduled to be held twice a year. However, in 2019, a new GR allowed the test to be conducted based on necessity. Recently, the final results of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) were declared, setting the stage for the upcoming Aptitude and Intelligence Test in May-June 2025.
