ARMEDiCON 2025: AFMC Pune to Showcase Advancements in Armed Forces Healthcare Research

ARMEDiCON 2025 will feature variety of academic discussions, workshops, and committee meetings, including Armed Forces Medical Academic Committee (AFMAC) and MJAFI Governing Council.

Pune: The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, is set to host ARMEDiCON 2025, the 73rd Annual Armed Forces Medical Conference, from January 28 to 30, 2025.

As India’s largest multi-specialty medical event, ARMEDiCON 2025 will bring together Medical, Dental, and Nursing professionals from the Indian Armed Forces for an engaging forum focused on research, innovation, and healthcare excellence.

The conference, organized under the stewardship of Lt Gen Sandeep Thareja, SM, VSM, Director and Commandant of AFMC Pune, will showcase pioneering advancements in medical research and practice, reflecting the Armed Forces Medical Services’ (AFMS) commitment to collaborative and institutional research.

Inaugural Highlights and Keynote Speakers

The inaugural session will feature a keynote address by Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), Vice Chancellor of MUHS, Nashik, and an esteemed alumna of AFMC Pune. Additional distinguished speakers include:

  • Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, Department of Health Research & Director General, ICMR

  • Dr. Ashutosh Nath Aggarwal, Professor & Head, Dept. of Pulmonary Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh

  • Dr. Rajiv Sarin, Director, ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai

  • Prof. Rohit Srivastava, Vigyan Shri and Himanshu Patel Chair Professor, IIT Mumbai

The event will also host senior leaders from the Armed Forces Medical Services, including:

  • Surg VAdm Kavita Sahai, SM, VSM, DGMS (Navy)

ARMEDiCON 2025 will feature a variety of academic discussions, workshops, and committee meetings, including the Armed Forces Medical Academic Committee (AFMAC) and the MJAFI Governing Council. These sessions aim to evaluate and plan advancements in healthcare delivery and research within the Armed Forces, while also contributing to solutions for broader healthcare challenges in the nation.

Under the guidance of Maj Gen Giriraj Singh, Dean & Deputy Commandant of AFMC Pune, ARMEDiCON 2025 is poised to strengthen the academic and operational frameworks of AFMS. The conference will serve as a platform for fostering innovations that benefit both the Armed Forces and the civilian healthcare ecosystem.
